I didn’t have time to process what was happening; everything was moving far too fast. My best friend, Tania, was practically forcing me to get ready because my future in-laws were arriving today to formally confirm the alliance. When I had told her about the proposal yesterday, she was over the moon, congratulating me before I could even finish the sentence.
